Emma Devine

After completing a  Degree in Fine Art in Nottingham I moved to London and juggled an ecclectic array of unrelated jobs ranging from Theatre Stage Crew Member, Wardrobe Assistant, After School Club Worker and Artists Assistant to Bar Worker, Market Trader and Administrative Assistant amongst others whilst continuing to enjoy my love of drawing from my little Hackney Council flat.

Moving to Westcliff on Sea when pregnant with my first son I took a little break from my artistic endeavours to concentrate on my two sons.

​

Once those boys were happily up and running I returned to my art work with renewed gusto.

​

I love to celebrate the beauty of natural forms and the art of storytelling and enjoy marrying these with an interest in flat pattern design alongside being heavily inspired by my love of Islamic, Japanese and Medieval Art.

All my work is hand drawn......computers playing absolutely no part in the creation of my original pieces. The closest I get to technology in my work is my beloved lightbox and the radio playing in the background.
